How Mock and Match works

An ecosystem of micro-tools for developers, designed to be fast, simple, and transparent about how your data is handled.

What it is

Mock and Match is a collection of small tools for developers — a mock data generator and Transform, which converts data and code between formats — brought together in a single panel.

How it works

Each tool is an independent page, optimized for indexing and fast loading. You use each one in isolation, with no account or setup required.

Local processing

The current tools (Mock Data and Transform) process all content directly in your browser. The text you paste or generate is never sent to any server for the tool to work.

To remember the generator's last schema and the transformations you use most, your browser stores this data in your own device's local storage (localStorage). It's never sent to a server, and you can delete it by clearing the site's data.

Only with your permission, we measure site visits with Google Analytics (pages visited and device type). This never includes what you type or generate in the tools, and you can change your choice at any time in "Cookie preferences", in the footer.

If a future tool requires server-side processing, that will be stated explicitly on the tool's own page.

Privacy & terms

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. It is mockandmatch.dev's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect on the mockandmatch.dev site, and other sites we own and operate.

We only request personal information when we truly need it to provide you with a service. We do so by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we're collecting it and how it will be used.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide the requested service. When we store data, we protect it within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

We don't share personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except when required to by law.

Our site may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility for their respective privacy policies.

You are free to decline our request for personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

Your continued use of our site will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and personal information. If you have any questions about how we handle user data and personal information, feel free to contact us.

User Commitment

The user commits to making appropriate use of the content and information mockandmatch.dev offers on the site, and, with an illustrative but not exhaustive character:

  • A) Not engaging in activities that are illegal or contrary to good faith or public order;
  • B) Not disseminating propaganda or content of a racist, xenophobic nature, related to games of chance, any kind of illegal pornography, the promotion of terrorism, or against human rights;
  • C) Not causing damage to the physical (hardware) and logical (software) systems of mockandmatch.dev, its suppliers or third parties, and not introducing or spreading computer viruses or any other hardware or software systems capable of causing the aforementioned damage.

Audience Analytics (Google Analytics)

If you accept in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google LLC, to understand how mockandmatch.dev is used: pages visited, time spent, referral source, device and browser type, and approximate location (country and city). To do this, Google Analytics writes cookies in your browser (such as _ga) and receives this usage data.

Whatever you type, paste or generate in the tools (Mock Data and Transform) is never sent to Google Analytics or to any other server. Processing keeps happening only in your own browser.

Google Analytics only loads after you click Accept. If you decline, no analytics cookie is created. You can change your mind at any time in Cookie preferences, in the site's footer, or block collection with Google Analytics' opt-out browser add-on.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Brazil's LGPD, art. 7, item I). The collected data is handled by Google under its own Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
